Regional Meeting of L’Initiative’s Partners in Southeast Asia: 10-11 June 2024, Bangkok, Thailand

Regional Meeting of L’Initiative’s Partners in Southeast Asia: Pullman Bangkok Hotel G, Bangkok, June 10 and 11, 2024.

A 2-days meeting to discuss success and challenges on HIV,  tuberculosis and malaria. More synergies to come!

Over the past 10 years, funded projects in the Greater Mekong subregion have significantly contributed to reducing the incidence and mortality rates of HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria.

In the Southeast Asia region, investments have supported a wide range of programs, including prevention, treatment, and care services, as well as improvements in infrastructure, supply chain management, and human resources capacity.

A total of 37 projects have been implemented by national programs, civil society organizations, universities, and research institutions to enhance overall health service delivery in the region. Despite this progress, countries in the region still face challenges related to controlling the spread of infectious diseases, addressing emerging diseases, and ensuring sustainable financing while combating stigma.

The objectives for the two-day meeting are as follows:

  1. Discuss the results and challenges of the projects.
  2. Create synergies among key stakeholders in the region to collectively reflect on and share knowledge generated by the activities supported by L’Initiative in Southeast Asia.

Three researchers from the AMS-PHPT Research Collaboration — Dr. Gonzague Jourdain, Dr. Nicole Ngo-Giang-Huong, and Dr. Nicolas Salvadori participated in this meeting.
