Medical Technologist in an International Clinical Research Team
Under the supervision of the Project Manager and the investigator team, the Medical Technologist will assist the team for the implementation of two international clinical trials, one to assess a new, simplified prophylaxis regimen for the prevention of HIV (PrEP) and the other evaluating a method to prevent sexually transmissible infections (STIs).
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct study operations according to the protocol, including participant counseling, providing information about the study, collect some data in electronic forms/questionnaires, performing rapid tests and sample collection for laboratory examinations, managing blood sample collection, shipment, and storage.
- Maintain regular communication with the hospital site teams, Project Manager and Principal Investigator and provide updates as needed
- Participate in study meetings to support collaborative efforts.
- Prepare for quality audits conducted by independent auditors.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Medical Technology (no previous experience required.)
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in Thai (for participant interaction) and in English (for collaboration with the research team, in person and online).
- Commitment to adhering to international standards for high-quality, ethical clinical research (Good Clinical Practice).
- Proficient in computer literacy.
- Knowledge of quality management systems and laboratory safety protocols.
- Genuine interest in clinical research and infectious diseases.
This is a full-time position opened on May 15th, 2025 for at least two years in an international team based in Chiang Mai downtown. These two international studies are funded by a French agency through Chiang Mai University.
Motivated Medical Technologists with limited professional experience are encouraged to apply. Training will be provided. Salary will be defined according to the candidates’ qualification and experience, with annual review for increases according to performance.
